Intro to Yoga with Mindfulness and Meditation: An Eightfold Path

Tuesdays 7-8:15pm
Fridays 10-11:15am

This beginner-focused format offers a welcoming, accommodating, non-competitive and safe place to approach what can become a lifelong practice that goes beyond the physical aspects of yoga. This class format is designed for anyone new to hatha yoga or continuing students interested in reconnecting to the fundamentals of a physical yoga practice, while expanding to include yoga philosophy, guided breath work (“pranayama”) & meditation. Each class will vary in theme, and will offer gentle exploration of “blueprint” yoga postures as well as restorative postures befitting of the group.​​​​​

Classes are $20 each. Pay at the door cash/credit. Ages 16+

Stefanie is a Registered Yoga Teacher, Mindfulness Coach, and Reiki Master with a Social Work background. She completed her Master of Social Work from The University of Michigan’s Graduate School of Social Work in 2007. She worked as a school social worker from 2007-2014, and has been a First Response Advocate for Turning Point Macomb’s Forensic Nurse Examiner Program since May 2014. 
She completed a foundational Yoga Teacher Training through YogaWorks (R) in May 2017 and an Usui Reiki Mastership in October 2017. She is also a certified Yin Yoga Teacher and Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher. She is committed to presenting yoga as an inclusive, approachable system of self-care that interweaves mindfulness and radical acceptance as essential components. Her teaching approach is highly compassionate and cultivating a trusting rapport with her students is her utmost priority.
